More than 40 worthwhile organizations applied for grants from the GBRF.  Unfortunately, there are not enough funds to give to all those in need.  The following organizations were chosen to receive funds in 2010.
 
Education: 
          Life's Kitchen:  Purchase of equipment, software and marketing materials to promote new marketing plan to provide consistent message regarding the program's mission.
 
Family Advocates:  Purchase age appropriate books for struggling families to promote and encourage family reading practices.
 
Anser Charter School:  Purchase of voice and data equipment for classroom document projector for the school's technology lab.
 
Learning Lab:  Purchase Oxford Picture dictionaries and work books for families.
 
Boise Urban Garden School:  Purchase materials including a shed, tools, art supplies, sketch books, plant stars and seed.
 
Idaho Media Professionals Association:  Cooperative with T.V.A.D. Coalition for high school students to prepare a video regarding the serious problems with underage drinking in Idaho.  Video will be used by schools, organization web sites and civic organizations.
 
Whittier Elementary School:  Provide start up fee to convert Accelerator reader programs from desk top to web base and one year fee for access to quizzes associated with the program.
 
           The Cabin:  Support of the Idaho Writing Camps programs.  Underwriting of costs to maintain program affordability, provide scholarship help and continue publication of "Words Work Wonders," a compilation of student writings.
 
Girls on the Run Idaho:  Fund scholarships for spring and fall season for programs to educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. 
 
Discovery Center of Idaho:  Printing and distribution of passes for children and families.
 
Liberty Elementary School:  Purchase of "The Writing spot" books for kindergarten students.
 
        Bob Gibb Scholarships:  Scholarships to BSU students
 
Arts:
Boise Music Week:  Purchase new wireless microphone system to comply with updated Federal regulations.
 
Boise Art Museum:  Provide funds for the Higher Ground Biennial High School Exhibition including reception and awards scholarships.
 
Caring:
Ride for Joy:  Purchase tack and equipment and provide tuition assistance for participants.
 
               Good Samaritan Home:  Repair of compressor in mechanical unit for independent living facility.
 
CATCH City of Boise:  Provide funds for Winco gift certificates to help homeless families with costs when moving into a new apartment.
