The Peregrine Fund The Peregrine Fund was founded in 1970 to restore the Peregrine Falcon, which was removed from the U.S. Endangered Species List in 1999. That success encouraged the organization to expand its focus and apply its experience and understanding to raptor conservation efforts on behalf of more than 100 species in 65 countries worldwide, including the California Condor and Aplomado Falcon in the United States. The organization is non-political, solution-oriented and hands-on .
The Treasure Valley Family YMCA has a program for third grade students teaching them to swim. All third grade students from the chosen school(s) are allowed to participate regardless of their family income. If students don’t have swim suits, one is provided. Not only does this program teach students to swim, it also offers them the opportunity to climb the rock wall and play while learning in a safe environment. The Y was granted $2000 allowing them to add one more school to their program.
Mini Joys, Inc. Mini Joys is a charitable organization whose purpose is to promote joy, hope, and healing through visits by compassionate miniature horses to those facing physical, mental or emotional challenges. Five additional groups will be added to their program with the help of GBRF.
