The Greater Boise Rotary Foundation is supported by Ada County Rotary Club Members and the community at large.  The purpose of this Foundation is to support Ada County Non-Profit organizations.

A new zebra and baby wallaby picked their permanent names from three choices submitted by area children. The Greater Boise Rotary Foundation has narrowed the 50 submitted names down  to three finalists for each animal.  The Greater Boise Rotary Foundation donated $2,500 for the acquisition of the zebra. 

The 5-year-old zebra came to Zoo Boise in July from the Detroit Zoo.  His name options included Zeke, Louie and Zesty.  The keepers let the zebra select his name by setting out three boxes with food.  The name on the box he approached first was the winner and ZEKE is his new name.

Name options for the baby joey, which first emerged from its mother’s pouch this spring at Zoo Boise, were Josie, Coco or Abby. The entire family emerged around the box with the name Abby, thus choosing that name for the newest Wallaby at the zoo.
